Interview: Trish Lynn
Trish Lynn: [00:00:00] Getting out of the mindset of I have to do it like everyone else in order to see those results is that regulated state is coming back to your power is not worrying about what Susie is saying on your post because the trolls have come out.
Who cares? When the trolls come out, it means you are saying the things you want to say and you are making enough noise that you are being seen 'cause you are striking a nerve. And I would rather strike a nerve with someone than sit back and not say the things that I wanna say. And I get to do it from this place of, Hey, if you don't like it, don't follow me.
I.
Joanna Newton: Welcome back to another episode of the Her First Podcast. I am so glad that you're here and are taking the time to listen and for all of the listening you've done of our show, we really appreciate it. Now, today we are talking about why your nervous [00:01:00] system is making your content invisible. We'll discuss how your past experiences and trauma can have a negative impact on how you are showing up online and what you can do to change it. I'm Joanna Newton. I'm the co-founder of Millennial Marketer, a course creation agency that helps people launch their own digital products.
Michelle Pualani: And I'm Michelle Houston, founder of To Be Honest Beverage Company, a non-alcoholic spirit brand and coach and mentor to where personal development meets. Personal branding. So today we're joined by a very special guest, Trish Lynn, who is a dedicated single mom of three and a survivor of narcissistic abuse.
With her journey from victim to Victor, she has transformed her life into one of empowerment and purpose. So as a content marketing strategist, tri specializes in helping women who have endured toxic relationships. their voice and thrive in business. So her mission is to inspire and guide others to reclaim their power and succeed in both their personal and professional lives. Trish, thank [00:02:00] you for joining us today. I'd love to start off with just how you got to where you are today and doing what you do.
Trish Lynn: Well, thank you guys both so much for having me. This is such an important story to share in helping women connect the dots. Because of my journey. So my journey in business started about eight years ago when I was still inside of that toxic relationship, and I was doing all of the things, showing up, putting out the content, and there was just a disconnect.
And it came to my attention that my nervous system was stuck in fight or flight. So I didn't have that capacity to sign the clients and be in that relationship, still protecting myself. It really led me to be able to dive deeper into what I do now and putting those dots together and helping women connect those dots into, you know, let's stop chasing strategy because the strategy is not the problem
Joanna Newton: I think what you are doing online is so refreshing and one of the reasons that I reached out was like, I have to have you on this show because So [00:03:00] often we talk about what trend to follow, what script to have, to get the hooks right, and all of that. And I'm not saying that that's not important because you have to have good content, but we're dealing with things on the inside that. Aren't healed, that aren't regulated, that aren't where they need to be. You're not gonna be able to show up right online. And I've been on a personal journey myself. I really feel like I only started hearing about or talking about my own nervous system regulation in the past. I. don't know, 18 months.
You know, it's been like a journey for me. I've seen the impact that it's had on me being able to sell, me, being able to show up, me being able to create really great content. I think that this message can really help all of our listeners really expand their reach by understanding how their nervous system affects their content. For someone who. Has never heard about this before and has like never even thought about their nervous system affecting the way they show up in the world and the way they show up online. Can [00:04:00] you talk to us a little bit about what nervous system dysregulation is and like what causes it and what are some signs you might be in a state of being stuck in fight or flight or having your nervous system dysregulated.
Trish Lynn: First and foremost, you can show up every single day online and still not be visible because you have that barrier that's saying, yeah, we're showing up, but oh shit, what happens if we're actually seen? And that's such a big piece. And it can look like, again, showing up every day, not being seen and not.
Feeling safe in being seen. So you're putting your content out, but you're still very surface level, very, you know, what everyone wants to see and what everyone wants to hear. Verse actually going into those deeper pieces of what you really wanna say and how you really wanna say it. Telling it like it is and how you see it.
Positioning yourself as that go-to leader. Dysregulated nervous system can look like. Jumping from strategy to strategy to strategy because hey, this isn't working, so we're gonna move [00:05:00] to something else, you know, flight, let's fly over to what's next. Let's keep going and keep going and keep going. But in reality with marketing, we know we have to stick with a strategy.
It takes more than a week to start seeing that strategy work and come into play and actually start, you know, seeing the results of that strategy working. Fights, you know, fight flights, we've got all of it falling, freezing. You you hit post and you're just like, oh my God, I just did that.
What if someone comments? What if someone actually wants to work with me? You know, what if someone reads it the wrong way? And it's all those fear moments and all those fear pieces that come up, and they're already so wired. If when you've been in a toxic relationship, your nervous system is wired for fight or flights, like your survival mode is there, it's hardwired because you are so used to walking on eggshells every single day.
Scared of saying what you actually wanna say. Scared of doing what you actually wanna do, it is programmed. So it's being able to come out of that state and [00:06:00] actually say those things. Do those things, not walk on eggshells with your audience like you did in that relationship.
Michelle Pualani: I think of the dysregulated nervous system almost as the foundation, which produces the conscious thoughts or experiences that we're allowing ourselves to have on a daily week. Weekly consistent basis, right? So the things that you're saying, I'm afraid to show up. I'm doubting what people are gonna say, I'm nervous to do this.
All of those things are kind of conscious thoughts that we have as a result of something that underlies it. And that dysregulated nervous system is what's underlying it that sometimes we're not always aware of, but it's there and it's become our survivalist way of being without really. Realizing it.
It's our new mode of normal and this is how we feel all the time. I was actually thinking about this. My husband was rubbing my head last night and giving me like a head massage. And after the fact, you feel your muscles relax and calm and you feel just like a little bit of a melting sensation, right? But you are operating from this [00:07:00] tense, tight place and you didn't even realize how tense and tight you were until you were given the tools to be able to relax and to release. So a lot of us are walking around with these experiences that have created this dysregulated nervous system that have given us.
This foundation, this way of being that's then impacting our thoughts, our beliefs about ourselves, and therefore our actions in the world, which of course impact our business, which impact our content. So can you tell us a little bit more about how these experiences get built, how we get to the place of having this foundation in the first place, and why our nervous systems are dysregulated?
Talking about people's experiences past trauma and those things that cause us to be in this place.
Trish Lynn: So I got. A lot of my past trauma and I like to come back to my experience 'cause that's what I lead by, was walking on those eggshells. You know, I was broken down into no confidence. Just a lack of self-confidence, a lack of self-worth, because you get told, you know, you're nothing without me, and all of these little [00:08:00] pieces that build up into, well, am I really good enough to show up here?
Am I really good enough to say these things and to help the women that I'm here to help write down to, you What I had to, what I wore and how my hair was done was always questioned. So now I'm putting myself out on social media and it's like, what are people gonna say? What are people gonna think?
We all have a fear of being judged. Like it's, it's in our nature as humans to want to not be judged because that's a fear of what someone else is thinking about us. And when you're criticized for so long, Hitting posts showing up. Putting your face on social media is a like.
Explosive feeling and in your nervous system, like a lot of that for me felt like a contraction. Like I was just coming inwards and trying to fit into a box of everything's gotta be perfect and neat and look a certain way. And I wasn't allowing myself to actually open up and step outside of that box and be who I wanted to be.
So it's a whole new level of [00:09:00] identity, like it is. It's the mindset, it's the thoughts. I still have a lot of those thoughts that come into. My head when I'm creating things and it's, you know, one of the biggest ones is, can I do this? Because for 16 years, a lot of the things I was told, I wasn't good enough.
I can't do this. I'm nothing without him. So that is still a thought that creeps in, but it's one I've learned to shift and to stay in this open capacity feeling, not a closed off and scared like a turtle. But you know, being able to actually open up and to take in all of the pieces. 'cause you can absolutely build a business from a dysregulated state, but it's going to look like hustle and it's gonna look like burnout and it's gonna look like chaos.
We don't wanna build from that.
Joanna Newton: it's also gonna hit a
ceiling,
right? Like it's gonna hit a ceiling of like what you as a human can take on and can handle and even believe for yourself. I think women. Would likely, I would imagine, be like more affected, I think by [00:10:00] this than like male entrepreneurs because so many times women are kind of taught to down our own needs for the needs of others to kind of not say the difficult thing because you don't want to get a negative reaction. I know so much of my growing up. Was really framed by this idea of like never wanting to get in trouble. Like I didn't want people to yell at me to be upset with me. I wanted everyone to think I was perfect, right? And then when you go create content and you go out the world, you can be scared to say the super opinionated things.
And even if you say them, you might say them with a lot of apprehension. Right, and not that conviction that you have, and we all know that the things that get attention on social media are a little more controversial. You are taking a strong stand. You are going out in the world and saying the big things.
So if you have fear around saying the big things, if you have fear around people not liking you, if you have, oh well what if that [00:11:00] hurts someone's feelings in your mind? Like that's really tough. one kind of funny example of this is I recently, shared a video from like a year ago. And I really haven't been in this mindset in so long of like really being worried how people will take what I say.
And someone in my life listened to that video and thought I was talking about them, because it was like, it was about giving myself. Too much to others instead of saving my best for me. And someone in my life thought that I was talking about them and they messaged me and I'd be like, well, actually in that case wasn't, but there's a reality when you show up, like you talk about situations in your life and you, you share those things. And if we're constantly scared of like, oh, what if so and so thinks I'm talking about them or is offended like that can really keep you from. showing up fully, like these past hurts, these trauma, the fear of others' opinion, the not wanting to make waves. if you're doing that in your personal life, it's gonna show up in your [00:12:00] business whether you want it to or not.
And even if you don't think it's showing up in your business, it's probably affecting you in one way or another. And A lot of people talk about this idea magnetism, right? Like how do you magnetize people so you can get those clients and, and get those folks. So if you are someone who is struggling with this, that you are not magnetic, maybe you're not sharing your true opinions in your content, how do you recommend they like, move past that to start magnetizing people to them?
Trish Lynn: One of my biggest mantras that I'm always repeating to myself is my impact is greater than my fear. When we are showing up online with our businesses, we are here to create an impact, and our impact has to come first. So our truth, sharing our story, sharing the real life pieces that we go through. Is a part of that impact 'cause it's going to connect with the women who need us the most.
I started a show on Instagram, the Trish Lynn Show, and in the first couple episodes, we talked a lot about my [00:13:00] experiences inside of that toxic relationship I brought on guests who've experienced their own narcissistic abuse. And a lot of them had a fear of, you know, sharing my story is going to you know, there's gonna be repercussions from it.
And there was, but I'm like, this is your story. This is your truth. This is, your perception of the events that happened to you. No one can take that from you. actually, my ex came across my show and came over to my house and questioned me about it. So this is a great example because I straight up I'm like, I'm sorry that you don't agree with my perception of the events that happen in our marriage.
You can't change my perception of the things that happen, and I'm not doing anything wrong by sharing my truth online. You gotta be able to step out of your comfort zone because when you're in your comfort zone, you're not gonna be creating that impact that you are here to create.
And then focusing on one piece that I bring in when I'm about to post something that's like, okay, I'm posting [00:14:00] this, I'm sharing this. Like I know this has to go out. This is a piece of me, this is a piece of my story. I will breathe. I focus on breath work a lot because it gets you out of your head and into your body and it signals to your nervous system, oh shit, I am safe.
Like there isn't an immediate threat. There is nothing coming, and it's one of the quickest ways you can do it anywhere at any time. I used to lay in bed and focus on breathing just so I could calm my body down before I went to sleep so that I wasn't going to sleep in a panicked state. Because we are stepping out of our comfort zone.
We want to be magnetic. While we are magnetic, when we are authentic and we are authentic when we are sharing our full truth. If we are filtering our truth and we are performing on our social media, is not fully expressing ourselves, that's not really authentic. So it's not very magnetic, is it?
Michelle Pualani: Absolutely. To kind of sum up as you're listening, thinking through this, is that so often we look to the strategy, the technicalities, the algorithm, who can we learn from? Let me invest in this [00:15:00] course. Let me do this thing. Oh, I need to just get this new software and do this new tech thing. But what we don't realize is that what is happening underneath all of that in our subconscious mind and with our nervous system. the reason that you're not seeing the success that you wanna see. I feel like I did that exact same thing for so long, is jump from this to that to change to strategy, give this a go, and never showed up consistently and didn't realize the ways in which it was impacting my actions and the way I approached my business and my daily productivity and my focus and all of these things.
So it's important to start to recognize. How this might be showing up in your life. I'm not saying that it definitely is, but it could be an aspect of why you feel like you're running into a wall, or like Joanna mentioned, hitting a ceiling. Why you're kind of feeling like this pushback. I used to describe it, so I've been in therapy for a long time and I used to describe it as if you've ever seen the movie Ants.
And the main character Z, they are next to the trash can like at a [00:16:00] picnic, and they end up on the picnic blanket and he is like, this is it. This is where we were going. This is like the end all be all. And he tries to go to eat the sandwich, but he runs into what he thinks is like a force field.
Of course it's just Saran wrap that we can see. But for him, he sees it as this. force, field and wall between what he wants and where he is now. And so often we encounter that same experience in life where we feel like there's this thing that's keeping us from getting to that place and we, if we look external to try to find it, we're gonna keep bouncing up against it, is when we tune inward and we start to turn into To address some of these things, to heal some of these things that we actually start to see a shift and a change, and that produces the outcome that we're looking to accomplish. So Trish, if you could go into, what, someone might start to about. In terms of healing, in terms of figuring out what this is, the internal work that we have to do as individuals in order to show up, in [00:17:00] order to create that magnetic energy and get through that force field or get over what we see as those limitations.
Trish Lynn: really looking at who do I wanna be? What do I want my life to look like? Like that identity piece is so big because then we get to build from there. We get to tap into self-awareness is a huge piece. So one, consciously starting to be aware of your thoughts and your feelings in each moment. If you are putting out a piece of content, well, how am I feeling right now?
What are my thoughts? It's about those pieces and when we can sit and look at, okay, I'm feeling this way, but I don't want to feel this way. when I reach that next level, this is what I'm going to be feeling. Like this is what I'm going to be doing. This is how I'm going to be moving.
These are the things I wanna say. Well, what do I need to do right now to feel safe in saying those things? How can I ground right now and tap into my body and feel safe in putting out that piece of content? with each new level, there's gonna be that new [00:18:00] force field. There's always going to be pieces that come up, thoughts that come up, and a tension in your body.
On the weekend, I was in a horrific car accident with a deer. And the next day I sat and I breathed into my body and I felt into where am I feeling of fear right now? Because I'm a single mom of three and life is life. So how is this now going to come in affect my business?
Where is the fear? Where am I feeling it? And how can I dissolve that? What thoughts can I bring into my reality that are going to move those pieces of fear? that's one of the biggest pieces is what are my thoughts? What am I feeling? What new thought can I start implementing instead of this fear base, lower vibrational thought that's going to keep me in this lower spiral?
I'm not going there. I'm not living there. I'm living over here. So what thoughts are going to elevate me and keep me going into the direction that I want to go into? When you hit that wall, that invisible [00:19:00] force field, okay, what is this trying to show me? That deer, for me, hitting that was an invisible force field of you asked for this because I asked for evolution.
Now what? Now how do I move forward? For me, that car was not meant to move forward with me into where it is I'm going, so what does this mean for me? How do I move through this fear? How do I move through all of these thoughts that are coming up so that I can rise above it and stay above it?
That is the hardest part, is actually staying above. Those lower vibrational frequencies that are, you know it, it's second nature. Our minds want to go to worst case scenario. Being consciously aware of those thoughts and being able to stay above that lower vibrational frequency and then grounding into it, breathing into it.
I will sit and implement breath work 10 times a day if I am feeling it, getting out, moving my body, moving that energy. These are the pieces that are. Internal that a lot of people don't focus on, they don't do their [00:20:00] work. We focus on the external when it comes to business of getting the content out, following this strategy, what hashtags, what's trending, known?
Where are you at internally when it comes to posting those things? What fears are showing up in your life, like your life and your business are intertwined? What is going on in your life that may be carrying through to your business? And energetically, where are you at? Where are your thoughts taking you?
If your thoughts are taking you below that line, well, what new thoughts can you implement that can bring you up?
Joanna Newton: Yeah, and if you're like stuck in a state of. negativity and negative self-talk and negative thought patterns. It can actually be really hard to recognize that you're even in them because they're so, they're so second nature. They're so just part of who you are. You send an email to a colleague and think.
No way. They're gonna answer this quickly and then they don't. And then that happens over and over and over again and you feel stuck with that project or that item versus sending off that email thinking, great. I'm sure I'll, I'll hear [00:21:00] from Joe by tomorrow. And like, moving on with your day. I think people don't realize what an impact. negative thought, like, no way this person is gonna respond to me. I don't think that person has the budget for the project I just sent. I don't think anyone's gonna like this video that I post. I think that we really underestimate the power that those negative thoughts have on the actual results of what we do. And I definitely am in like. the most healed place I have been in my life. And I'm currently going through a little bit of a transitional stage, and I've been having these like random, nervous system blips, like these random, like bubble ups. And it, it's not a specific emotion.
It's not even related to a very specific thing, but I'm getting these like things and know that there's no way I would've recognized that. year ago, like the work that I've done with my mindset, with breath work, with all of those things actually puts me in a common enough [00:22:00] state that when my nervous systems go in haywire, I can tell then I can try to understand what it is that's happening.
my body's like, you're coming to an invisible force field. Like it's telling me that, and I'm actually recognizing it now. So like there is this shift that nervous system dysregulation can kind of be like, now that I can recognize it, I can say, okay, what's happening? What am I coming up against and how do I get to that next level because something is going on. I think in the past I would've not recognized it 'cause I was just always in that state but now it's a, a signal for me to, do that. If you are talking to someone who. Was maybe me a year ago you are saying, like breath work and vibrational frequencies and all of these things they might go like, I don't even understand what that is. how would you recommend they just like. Get started. They're feeling nervous, they're feeling flushed. They're feeling rushed or like, you know, just not sure how they feel. What's a great first step for them in calming that nervous [00:23:00] system
Trish Lynn: the very first step, I, I love, feeling. And it is, it's that next level. Once you have been through it, you become more self-aware of your own. Thought patterns and your own body's behavior. So that's the first step is just becoming aware and consciously wanting to be aware of where your thoughts are.
And then breath work is simple. Breathe in for a count of four, hold it for a count of four, breathe out for a count of four. Like we don't have to over complicate it and it can be done anywhere. My kids, they used to laugh at me, but. I decided like I didn't want to be that mom that yells at my kids all of the time.
So when they were in a state that they were setting me off, I just literally stopped and I focused on breathing and they didn't know what to do. But it gives you that moment to just check in with yourself. Recognize, okay, you can feel if you breathe in for a count of four, count of six, whatever feels good for you.
Hold it for that same and breathe out. You can literally do this [00:24:00] three or four times and feel your shoulders drop and your body relax, and it is the simplest way. You don't have to worry about vibrational frequency, where your energy is at. Tap into your thoughts, how you are feeling. If you are feeling chaotic, pause, just take a full pause.
Doesn't matter. You can be driving down the road and have a moment of pure chaos. You can breathe while you're driving. It is just a matter of actually wanting to tap into, okay, I don't wanna feel like this anymore. This is not serving me. This is not supporting me where it is that I am going and making that conscious effort to recognize your patterns, recognize your thought patterns, and brief.
Michelle Pualani: frequently, we are actually in a state of comfort and we're kind of programmed as human beings to wanna stay in that zone of comfort, even if it's not healthy, even if it's not working for us and we can imagine something bigger and better for ourselves, we'll typically stay in that comfort zone.
A huge amount of self-awareness [00:25:00] has to come with the change. Acknowledging and recognizing that you want something different. And I think part of the undercurrent of that is recognizing that you are worthy of something different. Because we don't always value ourselves enough, we don't value our time, we don't value our energy, we don't value our attention, our care.
And oftentimes, especially as women, we are giving, giving, giving. And we think that we have to appease and we think that we have to be molded to what those people around us want. A lot of what Joanna and I talk about on this podcast and a lot of what Trish is talking about is owning that power and regaining that individual power to recognize and say, I want something different. I'm ready for something different. There is something else out there for me, and I've acknowledged and identified that what I am going through, how I am being, the way in which I am acting and showing up in my life. Is not what I want anymore. And we talk a lot about that in terms of active versus [00:26:00] reactive.
A lot of times what we are dealing with, especially with the dysregulated nervous system, is reaction. We're reacting to our environment, our circumstances, our relationships, the people around us. And we're allowing that to determine the current of our internal environment by changing our emotions, by shifting our thoughts, by bringing up fears and doubts, and making us second guess what it is that we're doing and how we are in the world.
When really we are in charge of that narrative, we get to be in charge of that internal environment and we get to determine how those emotions arise within us and what we do with them. We can still leverage challenging emotions and channel them in different ways. So when we talk about a lot of these things, of course it's such a healthy way to navigate life.
It's a healthy way to think about relationships. It's a healthy way to. Embody these changes so that we have less stress so that we wake up, you know, more rested so that we're getting better sleep. How does that kind of translate into business? [00:27:00] And specifically when we're talking about social media content creation being magnetic, how would you now approach strategy differently having addressed some of these nervous system things?
How do you then put this out into action and implement it in what you're doing in business?
Trish Lynn: is, it's really about, you know, being able to say those things that you wanna say. Everyone talks about visibility on social media. You wanna be visible. What is it that you really wanna say? What is that thought that you are not saying that you are holding back because. There's a, the fear, well say it.
Once you've got to that state and you get to say the things you wanna say, you get to openly show up how you want to show up. We get stuck in the thought of business is a one size fits all. There are millions of strategies and millions of ways of going about things. So once you are in that place and you are fully in your power, you don't show up looking at her and saying, I need to do what she does 'cause [00:28:00] she's getting the results I wanna get.
You don't show up looking at the next person saying, oh no, I need to do it this way. You show up as I get to do this my way. Blinders on. Saying the things I know my audience needs to hear, saying the things that you know is going to create the impact that you are here to create and not worrying about what everyone else is doing around you.
Because there are a lot of women, and I've caught myself in this, thought process of I need to go, go, go, go, go. Well, I'm not designed to go, go, go, go, go. I'm not designed to create a million offers and throw a million things out there at once. I'm not designed to have these massive, well not designed.
I don't want to have these group programs filled with hundreds of women. I want to go deep and focus on one-on-one. So. Getting out of the mindset of I have to do it like everyone else in order to see those results is that regulated state is coming back to your power is not worrying about what [00:29:00] Susie is saying on your post because the trolls have come out.
I.
Joanna Newton: and being able to show up like that. Show up in your power, show up with. Understanding, I think it's something you really hit on really well here is like, what do you actually want? What do you wanna sell? What do you want in your business? Right, because if we're selling because we want a hundred members in a program, but we actually don't care about having a hundred members in our program, that's not what we wanna bring to the world, then you're gonna really struggle to get enough visibility.
But if you, like you said you want one-on-one, you want deep connection, then that's what you need to go for. So knowing what we stand [00:30:00] for. Knowing what we want, knowing what we want our business, and not looking to external factors for validation.
Not saying, well I'm only successful if I have X. Deciding what success looks like for us. All of those things can help us like show up in power online or in whatever sales channel you're using to grow your business and like show up in that way. One thing I'd love is we kind of start to like wrap up and conclude our conversation. One thing I'd love for us to speak to is to the people listening to this show today who. Are struggling to get seen, struggling to get that comment, struggling to get their content seen. Some people would call this the 200 of you jail of TikTok. your videos get shown to 200 people and then stop. is something like super practical and super action oriented they could start doing differently today to break through that ceiling that they're facing.
Trish Lynn: One is consistency. [00:31:00] If you are not showing up consistency, I hate this word, but the algorithm is not going to favor you. The algorithm favors consistency, whether we like it or not. So if you want your content, and it's more than just a, I'm gonna show up consistently for the next seven days, posting a reel, no, you have to show up It takes about 30 days, I believe it is for the algorithm to pick up on what it is that content is that you are putting out. So consistency in getting the content out, but consistency in your message. What are you talking about? Who are you talking to? There's such a lack of clarity that. You even look at someone's content, you're like, well, who is this for?
What is this for? What does she even do? Get super clear and super consistent. And your hooks. Your hooks are important. You wanna be able to create the content that draws the people in. Well, what is it? that you really wanna say? Are you speaking your truth? Or are you filtering what it is you wanna say?
'cause when you speak your truth. You're going to make that person your ideal client, pause [00:32:00] and be like, holy shit, I need to go see what she's talking about. I need to go learn more about her. I need to go learn what she's about. Because yeah, we get stuck in the 200 view. Jail views aren't everything. I've had this conversation, around views.
I'm like, I don't care so much about views as I do the engagement on my content. I've been testing trial reels and I'm getting views, that's cool, but I'm not getting any likes or engagement. Whereas the content that I put out, I'll put out the same piece of content to my audience and I'm getting the same amount of views, but a lot more engagement.
And for me it's is your content creating the engagement? Are you having the conversations? Is it generating those DM conversations? 'cause I keep things very simple. My content leads to DM conversations, which leads to sales. So if your content is not generating those conversations well, we need to look at those pieces and the inconsistency in your messaging, because there's obviously a hole there in your messaging.
There's a hole in your [00:33:00] clarity on who it is you're speaking to. Are you articulating what you do? Are you articulating how you help your audience? Because if you can put that out there, they're going to see, oh yeah. Like we, we need to look at her. We need to go see what she's all about. And that's what's gonna draw in the conversations.
Michelle Pualani: It is a balance of executing on the principles of messaging, offer, presentation, and being able to draw in that person that you wanna work with, and then thinking about your goals. Right? speaking to some of the metrics related to social media content creation. If your goal is to get a million views and be a content creator who gets brand deals, that's very different than a business owner or a coach who's looking to get engaged viewers who then move through that process of becoming a client in that way. So being thoughtful about how you're approaching your strategy as you're listening so as we're chatting, thinking about how you can implement this in your business and what the goals are that you're working to accomplish, and recognizing the ways in which you [00:34:00] can break down some of those barriers.
Be a little bit more authentic, show up a little bit more genuine in your purpose, your mission, your values, and how you're then sharing that. Get on a consistent schedule and just see that through, be more aligned with the content that you're creating and the results will often follow. Trish, thank you so much for joining us today.
If someone wanted to learn more about what you do, follow, get in touch, where can they
Trish Lynn: You can find me on Instagram at the Trish Lynn, or on Facebook, Trish Lynn. I am on LinkedIn as well. All the platforms. Yeah, just let's have a conversation. I love these conversations. I do speak to a lot of, the women I help, so I don't incorporate, you know, those who are trying to get more views and get brand deals and whatnot, but your strategy is your baseline.
Your strategy is that foundation that is then going to allow you to do that inner work, which gets to help you go out even further. Like, we have to go in to go out. So we need [00:35:00] both pieces implemented in order to see our success, in order to create our impact, and I'm here for all of it. Thank you guys so much for having me today.
Joanna Newton: Thank you so much. We really appreciate your time today. This was a super refreshing conversation of talking through how our nervous system. Dysregulation can really affect how we show up in our business and the results that we wanna achieve. If you wanna stay in touch with Trish, we'll put all of her information in the show notes, if you were impacted by this episode, we would really appreciate it if you shared it with a friend who you think could really benefit from learning how to get more visible online.
